Make a Brush in Photoshop
MAKE YOUR OWN BRUSH
On a clear layer, paint or draw a shape. Use only black or gray. This should be the only thing on the layer.
Select the pixels by holding down the Command key and clicking on the layer icon in the layer panel.
With the pixels selected, define it as a brush:
Edit>Define Brush Preset
You can now use this brush and adjust it the same as any other.
TO TURN IN YOUR BRUSH
Go to either the Brush Presets Panel or the Brush control box at the top of your screen (on the Control Panel). From the drop-down menu, select Save Brushes.
Choose where you are going to save the brushes, and save with your name.
- To use your brushes on another computer or at a later time, got to the drop-down menu and select Load Brushes. (You will probably get duplicates.)
